Young Territorians will have access to an exciting range of drug and alcohol free entertainment through the awarding of almost $24 000 worth of Youth Grants, announced today by the NT Government.
The Minister assisting the Chief Minister on Young Territorians, Marion Scrymgour, today announced the successful Youth Grant recipients from across the Territory.
“The Northern Territory Government is committed to ensuring that young people living in the Territory have access to recreational activities and youth development opportunities,” Ms Scrymgour said.
“Through the Youth Grants Program, young people aged 12 to 25 from across the Territory can access a variety of community based activities, including entertainment and developmental opportunities.
“The quality of the applications received for this grant round was excellent. It is very pleasing to see young people and youth organisations proposing such a variety of activities, including entertainment and developmental opportunities.”
Ms Scrymgour said applications were received from Alice Springs , Darwin , Rural Darwin, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and remote Indigenous communities.
“The Youth Grants Program is an important way of providing young people and organisations with the means of putting their ideas into action,” she said.
