Following on from her high level tourism investment meetings in Sydney earlier this month, Chief Minister, Clare Martin, is to meet with representatives from Voyagers and the Aurora Group in Adelaide early next week.

“These meetings continue the work of highlighting the Territory’s tourism opportunities to key players in Territory and indeed Australian tourism,” she said.

“Tourism is one of the key economic drivers in the Territory - it’s a $1.2 billion industry and employs around 8,000 people and this Government is determined to help keep the Territory’s tourism industry moving ahead.”

Ms Martin will also meet with Indigenous Affairs Minister, Amanda Vanstone, to discuss future service-delivery arrangements following the abolition of ATSIC.

This includes the development of bi-lateral agreements which will clarify the responsibilities of both the Australian and Territory Governments, particularly in key areas such as housing, essential services, arts and culture, sport & recreation and community safety.
