Permits to Access Quarantine Area Issued to Landholders at Darwin River

Lands and Planning Minister Dr Chris Burns has announced that permits for approved landholders to recommence drawing water for domestic and irrigation purposes from quarantined areas of the Darwin River are being issued.
Tests for water quality have been carried out following the final application of AF Rubber Vine Spray to eradicate Cabomba weed.
Quarantine regulations remain in place to prevent the spread of Cabomba. Access to the quarantine area remains prohibited except by permit holders.
Permits to access the quarantined area are issued under Section 22 of the Northern TerritoryWeeds Management Act 2001.
