Chief Minister and Minister for Arts and Museums, Clare Martin, has announced the twenty members of the second Arts Grants Board.

“I am pleased to announce that the new Board - which has seven more members than the inaugural Board - offers a diverse range of expertise in the arts industry,” she said.

“The range of activities supported and the continued competition for funding under this Program, are testament to the important role the Board plays.

“My Government is proud of our great Territory lifestyle, it’s unique and the best in Australia and our arts community is an important part of that.”

Over the past two years, the Arts Grants Board has assessed four project rounds, totalling 362 applications, funded 159 projects and awarded $868,498 in funding.

“The Board represents the diversity of the arts sector and regional interests - it has provided strong outcomes for the arts and improved transparency in regard to project funding decisions,” she said.

“They will attend induction training in early December, followed by a meeting of the Board Panel to assess applications to the October 2004 Round of Arts Grants funding.

“I would like to thank the members of the inaugural Board for their valued contribution over the past two years and it’s good to see that a number of inaugural members have been retained on the second Board - their experience will be a great asset.”
