Chief Minister Clare Martin today expressed the sympathy of all Territorians at the plight of our neighbours to the north.
“All of us have been saddened at the events that have been unfolding so close to us,” said Ms Martin.
“Our community here in the Territory is made up of people from each of the countries that have been affected by this tragedy.
“We share their deep concern for their family and loved ones.
“The Department of Health and Community Services has been involved in continuing discussions at a national level as to where the Territory might assist—we are looking to a national response.
“These national discussions are continuing, and we will offer the Territory's support in any way we can.”
