Today the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Kon Vatskalis, announced the second round of recipients from around the Territory to receive Grass Roots Development Grants.
Mr Vatskalis said the program grants up to $3,000 for new and innovative ideas to get even more people out their playing sport or to strengthen sport and recreation organisations.
“The Territory is a great place to live. Our outstanding weather means it’s rare we can’t get out there and kick a footy or go for a swim,” said Mr Vatskalis.
“We want to back the great ideas people have to make our lifestyle even better.
“Our Grass Roots Development Grants are one way we can help people at the grass roots level deliver even better sports events and recreational activities.
“In this round 24 grants worth over $60,000 will be distributed to a range of organisations.

“Another 33 organisations from across the Territory received Grass Roots grants last year in the first round of the program,” said Mr Vatskalis.
Grass Roots Development Grant applications are assessed twice a year and organisations may only have one approved application per financial year.
