Free Buses To Powercruise This Weekend

The NT Government is providing free buses to Australia’s “wildest cruising car show” - Powercruise – in Darwin this weekend.

The high octane event, to be held at the Hidden Valley Raceway, gives Territory motorsports enthusiasts the opportunity to perform burnouts, powerskids, off street racing, and drifting in their own street car in a safe controlled environment.

Sports Minister Matthew Bonson said Powercruise Darwin is another example of the NT Government’s commitment to provide free public transport to major entertainment events.

“Territorians love their sport – and they certainly love their motorsports!,’ Mr Bonson said.

“Last year more than 7,900 people were transported by free buses within the precincts of the raceway.

“This is the first year services outside the raceway are being offered and buses will operate from the Casuarina, Darwin and Palmerston interchanges, picking up passengers at all stops along the route.”

Powercruise runs on Saturday and Sunday this weekend at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Further information on the free buses is available on helpline 8924 7666 between 9:00am to 1pm on Saturday. Timetable information is available at www.nt.gov.au/freebuses.
