The Northern Territory Government will boost sporting facilities funding by $2 million in the upcoming Budget.
Minister for Sport, Matthew Bonson, said this will mean more sports facilities across the Territory can be upgraded.
“Territorians love their sport and the Henderson Government is investing $2 million more in sporting facilities across the Territory.
“Clubs, communities and organisations across the Territory will now have access to $3.7 million over the next two years under the Facility Development Grants program.
“Good facilities make playing and watching sport a more enjoyable experience for the entire family.
“It is important we have good sports facilities across the Territory, especially at grass roots levels, so we can encourage more people to get active and participate.
“Good facilities also create the right environment to produce more Territory sporting super stars in the future.
“The Northern Territory Government is investing $25.8 million for sport and recreation in Budget 08.
