A new chapter in NTFL history began today with the launch of the first season featuring a Tiwi Islands team.

 

Minister for Sport and Recreation Kon Vatskalis said he was looking forward to another exciting NTFL season.

 

“There is no doubt Territorians love their footy,” Minister Vatskalis said.

 

“The introduction of the Tiwi Bombers is a great step forward for the footy in the Territory and I congratulate the AFLNT on this exciting new initiative.

 

“Like many other Territory footy fans, I will be fascinated to see how the Tiwi Bombers fare against some of the powerhouse clubs of the NTFL.

 

“I am also looking forward to the Palmerston Magpies first game at their new home ground in round 2.

 

“I wish all clubs a successful season and encourage Territory footy supporters to get out and support their team.”
