More than 130 Top End business operators have registered to attend an industry forum tonight to hear how they could benefit from a record housing and infrastructure program.
Minister for Housing Rob Knight said the forum, held at the Darwin Convention Centre, will enable businesses to learn more about the $672 million Strategic Indigenous Housing and Infrastructure Program (SIHIP).

“More than $400 million will be invested in communities across the Top End, and there are real opportunities for local services providers and suppliers to be part of the work,” Mr Knight said.
“Tonight, business operators will hear an outline of how SIHIP is working and hear directly from the Alliances delivering works on the ground about the workforce they will need.
“Both the Territory and Australian Governments are committed to ensuring local businesses are used wherever possible and I strongly encourage business operators to attend a forum in their region.”
Tonight’s forum will run from 5pm to 6:30pm.
It will be followed by forums in:
· Katherine, Wednesday 11 March: Knotts Crossing Resort, 5pm to 6:30pm
