Minister for Sport and Recreation Karl Hampton today wished all the teams taking part in the grand finals the best of luck for their matches.

We will also see another first for Territory footy off the field this weekend with the screening of the ‘In a League of Their Own’ documentary on ABC TV on Sunday.
“The production of ‘In a League of Their Own’ documents the story of the Tiwi Bombers, the first all-Indigenous football team to play in a major Australian Football League competition, Mr Hampton said
“The program follows the team’s first season in the highly competitive Northern Territory Football League.”
The Northern Territory Government through the Northern Territory Film Office Screen Grants, Sport and Recreation Special Assistance Grant and the Community Benefit Fund contributed $120 000 towards the production of the series.
’In a League of Their Own’ has been a successful model, in engaging many Territorians in the production of a series that will be widely viewed around
“I congratulate all involved in the production of this important resource including the series director, Steven McGregor and all involved with this project,” Mr Hampton said.
