Paige, Cassie and Laura won the competition to name the slides and be the first to ride.
Speaking at the official opening where he was joined by Infrastructure Minister Delia Lawrie, Mr Henderson said funseekers could now get their fix on the red Funderstorm named by Cassie; the Blue Blast named by Laura and Paige’s Go Bananas yellow slide.

“Everyone will be racing each other to see which slide is the fastest. My tip is it will be a race between the Funderstorm and the Go Bananas slides.”
Ms Lawrie said the Park was a great part of the Top End lifestyle.
“It is central to many northern suburbs homes and is accessible to Palmerston and the rural area,” Ms Lawrie said.
“The redevelopment will provide hours of family fun and the project employed up to 200 workers, with up to 40 workers on site at any one time.
