Applications are now being sought for the latest round of EnvironmeNT grants.
Environment Minister Alison Anderson said $720,000 in funding is available across three areas, those being individual projects, operational projects and school projects.
Proposals are invited from individuals, community groups, wildlife or conservation organisations, schools, local government and industry groups.
“These grants are intended to fund on-the-ground actions which reduce our impact on the environment, and ensure that our unique and beautiful Territory environment is safeguarded for everyone to enjoy for years to come,” Ms Anderson said.
“The schools category will support environmental activities and projects, which will help bring the important message of sustainability into the classroom.
“We’re encouraging Territory organisations and schools to turn their minds to sustainability and to devising new methods and technologies that will help us all to live in more environmentally conscious fashion.”
The categories are:
- Wildlife
- Energy efficiency
- Re-thinking waste
- Water conservation
- Weeds and ferals
- Environmental education/capacity building
- Sustainable technology and resource efficiency
Applications close on Friday, May 1 for the school project category. The individual and operational categories will remain open until Friday, May 22.
