The Territory 2030 Steering Committee has delivered the first draft of the Territory 2030 - Fresh Ideas Real Results strategy to the
“The draft recognises that education is the key to making the Territory smart, skilled and prosperous,” Mr Henderson said.
“Territory 2030 will be the cornerstone of the future development of our community.
“This Government’s strong economic management has the Territory well placed to withstand the impact of the global financial crisis – but we also need to continue to plan.
“Territory 2030 is an unprecedented long-term strategic plan. It will lay out for the community where we want to be in 20 years, with targets and goals on key areas of importance to all Territorians.
“The draft strategy is the result of a lot of hard work by the Committee, and I thank them for their work
“The Steering Committee has put education at the centre of the Territory’s future. I agree that striving for quality education and better outcomes is a critical part of the direction the community and the Government should take.
“The first round of consultations involved 77 submissions and face-to-face meetings with more than 300 people.
“The Steering Committee will now discuss this document up and down the Territory as part of the second round of consultations.
“I urge all Territorians to have their say to help shape the direction the Territory takes over the next couple of decades.”
