Sports Minister Inspects Hidden Valley VIP Lounge

Sports Minister Karl Hampton today inspected the brand new $1.6 million members VIP lounge and kiosk at Northline Speedway within the Hidden Valley Motor Sports Complex.

Mr Hampton said he was impressed by the new facilities at Hidden Valley and that it would be great for Darwin Speedway.

“Territorians love their motor sport and the new $1.6 million members VIP lounge and kiosk will add another dimension for motor sports fans and sponsors and be great for Darwin Speedway,” Mr Hampton said.

“Local construction company Habitat NT Pty Ltd has done a great job in building the new $1.6 million facility that provided up to 200 jobs for Territorians.

“The $1.6 million investment was in addition to our $4 million election commitment to upgrade key infrastructure at Hidden Valley over three years.

“And on top of that, the Territory Government provided more than $1.3 million to upgrade the electrical system at Hidden Valley with work completed earlier this year in time for round five of the V8 Supercar Championship series.

“The new two-storey facility will enable Northline Speedway to entertain and cater for their members and sponsors and also hire the venue out for private functions.

“The new VIP lounge and kiosk comes complete with bar, kitchen, food servery, store room and large under-covered area on the ground floor, members lounge, cool room, toilets, kitchen and large covered deck on the first floor.

“I look forward to the new facility’s official opening next month and seeing the VIP lounge and kiosk in action.”

Hidden Valley Motor Sports Complex incorporates a 2.87km national standard motorcycle and motor car race track, drag strip, speedway, go-kart track and mud racing track.
