Karl Hampton MINISTER FOR SPORT AND RECREATION |
More than 50 sport and active recreation organisations will receive over $3.2 million worth of funding as part of the NT Government’s 2009-10 Peak Sport and Recreation Grant Program.
In total 44 peak sporting bodies and 14 recreation organisations will benefit from this funding.
Sport and Recreation Minister Karl Hampton today announced the successful recipients of the grants which will enable the organisations to develop and deliver their sport and active recreation programs throughout the Territory.
“Territorians love their sport and love being outdoors, and these grants make it possible for our major peak organisations to continue to deliver these programs to Territorians,” Mr Hampton said.
Mr Hampton said groups from right across the Territory will receive funding to provide services to their regions.
Some of the organisations to receive funding include
“This grant program helps build stronger communities with participation in sport and active recreation bringing substantial benefits to health, crime prevention, the economy and education,” Mr Hampton said.
