International oil and gas company INPEX has signed an historic agreement with the Larrakia Development Corporation (LDC) over the Ichthys gas project
The Territory Chief Minister Paul Henderson was present as LDC Chairman Koolpinyah Barnes signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with INPEX Browse Managing Director Seiya Ito in
“The MOU is about a long-term partnership that will ensure Indigenous Territorians benefit from jobs and business prospects and environmental and heritage protections,” Mr Henderson said.

Mr Henderson said the MOU outlines the intentions and expectations for a mutually beneficial relationship between the LDC and INPEX.
“Bringing gas onshore will result in jobs for more than 2000 people at the peak of construction and create about 300 new, ongoing jobs,” he said.
“There will be many direct and indirect jobs and business opportunities for Territorians.”
