Dr Chris Burns MINISTER FOR BUSINESS |
The annual October Business Month (OBM) achieved record numbers this year with over 4800 people attending events.
Minister for Business, Dr Chris Burns, said OBM is one of the programs the Territory Government delivers to help support and grow business.
“The Territory Government has a range of important programs to support business development and OBM delivered a busy 89 events,” Dr Burns said.
“We’ve seen record numbers attend OBM 2009 events across the Territory, with an increase of 400 from last year, and an increase of 1400 compared to 2006.
“The feedback we’ve already received from participants has been positive and we’ll use their suggestions to determine what is covered in next year’s OBM.
“This year OBM delivered a program focused on workforce planning, prospering in uncertain times, planning for upturn, and improving bottom lines –topics based on feedback from 2008.
“I thank all the sponsors of OBM for their support and look forward to another terrific OBM program next year,” Dr Burns said.
October Business Month delivers motivational speakers, seminars, networking events and awards.
The Territory Government offers a range of free business advice and programs through the Department of Business and Employment. These include the Territory Business Growth Program, business consultations, Territory Business Upskills Workshops and access to the Territory Business Centres.
