Darwin’s TIO Stadium Marrara will host the Western Bulldogs and the Fremantle Dockers on June 16 in next season’s AFL competition.
Minister for Sport Kon Vatskalis said Territorians can expect a first class game.
"We’ve adopted the Bulldogs as our team but there’s plenty of Dockers fans in the Territory – it’ll be a great crowd," Mr Vatskalis said.
"The draw follows last week’s announcement that the Northern Territory is guaranteed to host at least 9 AFL Games under a new 3 year deal.
"Under the agreement by the NT Government, the AFL, the AFLNT and the Western Bulldogs, the club will continue to play an AFL Premiership home-game in Darwin each year.
"The $300,000 a year deal also ensures the Territory will host two NAB Pre-Season matches each year," said Mr Vatskalis.
The Bulldogs have made the Territory their second home – the players travelling throughout the NT to visit schools, hospitals, prisons and nursing homes.
The Bulldogs have also conducted NAB AFL Auskick Clinics with thousands of local children.
