New casino agreement delivers certainty for Lasseters

The Northern Territory Government has  joined senior Malaysian representatives from Lasseters International to sign a new Casino Operator’s Agreement for the Lassetters Hotel Casino in Alice Springs.

The agreement extends Lasseters Hotel Casino licence and exclusivity in the region until 2031, with an option to extend for a further 5 years.

“I am pleased to join with Treasurer David Tollner and Lasseters International to sign this agreement today on behalf of the CLP government, providing certainty for the ongoing operation of the casino in Alice Springs, which is used by thousands of tourists and visitors each year,” Business Minister Peter Styles said today

“With the certainty this agreement provides, Lasseters will continue to invest in the ongoing operation in Alice Springs.

“The casino operators Lasseters International have proven themselves to be good corporate citizens over many years and recently invested a further $45 million in upgrading Alice Springs accommodation and facilities.

“The upgrade increased accommodation from 70 to 205 rooms, existing rooms refurbished, construction of a new reception area, a day spa, pool and gym area and new restaurant and beverage areas.

“Quite apart from being one of the biggest employers in Alice Springs Lasseters also injects money back into the community through its sponsorship of community events and also through the Government’s Community Benefit Fund.  “
