Turbocharging Tourism: Stars Bring Bondi Rescue to Henley-on-Todd

Minister for Tourism and Culture, Lauren Moss said today the Bondi Rescue visit is a marketing win for the Territory and a fantastic opportunity for the NT to attract more visitors and tourists and support local business and jobs.

Popular reality television program Bondi Rescue will showcase Alice Springs and surrounds, and the iconic Rotary Henley-on-Todd Regatta, to an audience of millions in a one-hour Red Centre television special due to go to air early 2019.

The special episode, which is a destination-driven spin-off of the Bondi Rescue series, will feature adventure tourism activities in and around Alice Springs including mountain biking, hiking and unique running events.

The visit was secured by the organisers of Rotary Henley-on-Todd and supported by Tourism NT and the Alice Springs Town Council.

Alice Springs Mayor Damien Ryan said the Bondi Beach locals would feel right at home on the sands of Alice Springs’ Todd River.

2018 Commodore Tony Jennison said the Rotary Henley on Todd Regatta was excited that the Bondi Rescue team accepted its invite and the challenge of competing on the sands of the Todd River.
