NITV and Screen Territory have partnered in an exciting initiative for emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander screen practitioners based in the NT.
Minister for Tourism and Culture, Lauren Moss congratulated the successful applicants and said they are shining examples of home grown NT talent.
The Territory Labor Government has invested $157,500 towards the project to develop and produce NT stories to be broadcast nationally, generating an estimated $375,000 worth of production in the NT.
The initiative, “Red Ochre”, sought teams to submit ideas for a half hour documentary, a short form documentary series or an entire 3 x 30 minutes documentary series. Content could be a mix of web series and half hour documentaries for broadcast on NITV and SBS on Demand.
The successful applicants were selected on the strength and distinctiveness of their stories, their vision and ability to bring these stories to the screen and to create a program that would appeal to an NITV audience.
NITV Channel Manager, Tanya Orman said NITV was excited to partner with Screen Territory again and was looking forward to seeing the finished products.
