The CLP Deputy Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro has showed she is willing to deliberately mislead Territorians about vital frontline policing services.
The Deputy Opposition Leader today a put out a press release in which she herself admits was based on “rumours”.
FACT VS FICTION:
The CLP promised to deliver 120 frontline officers but failed to do so.
Fact: The Territory Labor Government will have 120 additional frontline officers recruited by 2020 – plus an additional 75 Police Auxiliary liquor inspectors
CLP claims cuts to frontline services
Fact: There has been no cuts to frontline policing. Under the Territory Labor Government the NT Police have a record budget, more officers, and more resources than ever before.
CLP claims police numbers are in danger
Fact: The Territory Labor Government has recruited more police than the CLP ever did, and attrition rates are the lowest they have been in over 10 years.
CLP claims Palmerston Police Station won’t have a 24-hour Watch House
Fact: Unlike the CLP who failed to deliver vital frontline infrastructure for the residents of Palmerston – we are building a state-of-the-art police station, with a 24hour watch house.... (we have also delivered a Palmerston Hospital)
