Grants of up to $50,000 have been awarded to 14 remote Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, as part of the Territory Labor Government’s Local Decision Making Agenda.
The Remote Aboriginal Governance and Capacity Building Grants help strengthen the capacity and capabilities of Aboriginal organisations to better support them in developing community-led initiatives and programs.
Aboriginal governance is the backbone of local decision making and critical to ensuring local people drive community-led solutions and service delivery at a community level.
Among the 14 successful applicants this year are the Yuendemu Women’s Centre Aboriginal Corporation, the Ngukurr Arts Aboriginal Corporation and the Wuyagiba Bush Hub Aboriginal Corporation.

In this round, eight groups received grants of between $20,000 and $50,000 and six groups received grants of less than $20,000.
The total cost of this round is $448,577.
