The Territory Labor Government will be travelling to Timor-Leste today to attend the Bi-Lateral meeting where a new three year Strategic Partnership Agreement will be signed.

The Agreement recognises and reinforces the strong relationship that exists between the Northern Territory and Timor-Leste.

Focusing on business, jobs, and health, the Chief Minister, along with Minister Fyles, Minister Lawler, Minister Kirby, and the Member for Katherine Sandra Nelson, will be meeting with:

• The agriculture and fisheries sector, including the Minister HE Mr Joaquim José Gusmão dos Reis Martins
• Visiting the Centre of Disease Control with the HE Vice-Minister for Health Ms Élia António de Araújo dos Reis Amaral
• Hosting a NT business roundtable with local NT businesses operating in Timor-Leste.

This delegation to Timor-Leste strengthens cultural ties and opens new business, trade and investment opportunities.

The Northern Territory Government welcomes the signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement and will work with Timor-Leste to identify strategic priorities and manage key projects together.
