Excitement is building for season seven of Million Dollar Fish, with registrations opening today for the Territory’s iconic fishing competition.
Season seven of the popular competition officially opens on 1 October 2021 and runs until 31 March 2022 with specialised tagging of Barramundi already underway.
The pool of prize money, underwritten by SportsBet, is set to be the biggest in the history of Million Dollar Fish, which means there are more chances than ever to bag a winning barra.
There are now eight $1 million fish swimming around Top End waterways, including the recently released Season seven Million Dollar Fish, in addition to the remaining $1 million tagged fish from previous seasons.
Once any of the eight Million Dollar Fish are caught, the remaining seven revert to $10,000 fish.
Anglers also have the chance to reel in 100 red-tagged barra worth $10,000.
Each time a $10,000 barra is caught, the lucky fisho will have the opportunity to donate an additional $1,000 to a Million Dollar Fish Season Seven Official Charity Partner.
A further $10,000 will be donated to an Official Charity Partner once the Million Dollar Fish is reeled in.
