Minister for Education
The Territory Labor Government is on the hunt for the unsung heroes in our schools, with nominations opening in the annual Teaching in the Territory Excellence Awards.
The awards, now in their 14th year, give school communities the opportunity to nominate outstanding teachers, school principals and educators who they believe are deserving of recognition.
“The Territory Labor Government believes that investing in education is key to a brighter future for all Territorians and our educators are critical to ensuring ours is the most improving school system in the country,” Education Minister Eva Lawler said.
“Teaching is one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs in the world and we are lucky in the Territory to have such passionate and dedicated staff, committed to providing quality education that gives every child the opportunity to engage, grow and achieve.
“It is important to celebrate the wonderful teachers and educators who continue to strive to deliver excellence in our schools.”
The 2018 Territory Budget unveiled this week included a record $506 million investment in direct government school resourcing to support students and recruit more teachers.
