Top Tier Entertainment Locked in for Supercars Weekend

Office of the Chief Minister

The 2019 BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown is gearing up to be one of the Territory’s biggest and best Supercars events, with a fantastic program of on and off-track entertainment.

The Territory Labor Government is investing $3m into the annual event which attracts around 40,000 spectators from around Australia and injects $16 million into the local economy every year.

The much-anticipated event from 14-16 June will see some of Australia’s most iconic music acts travel to Darwin for the popular after race concerts.

Australian music superstars Jimmy Barnes and The Veronicas will rock post-race party goers on Saturday 15 June with a musically resurgent Ezekiel Ox opening the concert.

Hidden Valley is set to become Urban Valley on Sunday, 16 June, with Illy, Vera Blue, Briggs and DT3 taking the stage.

The 22nd annual BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown will see the Students on Track Program return to Hidden Valley, as well as the specially-designed Disney Fun Zone with a range of exciting children’s activities including rides, slides and a Disney Pixar Cars activation.

Legendary free-style motocross rider Robbie Maddison will trek back to Australia for a one-off appearance at the Darwin Supercars alongside other family attractions including the F18 Aerial Display, and Matt Mingay and the Hot Wheels Stuntz Inc Team.

The on-track racing program again boasts a wide range of categories such as Aussie Racing Cars, Porsche Carrera Cup, Improved production/Commodores Cup and the HQs.

The 2019 BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown’s off-track entertainment program features numerous exciting highlights such as the Night Transporter Convoy on Wednesday 12 June, driver signing sessions in Raintree Park and a Supercars Zone at Mindil Beach on Thursday 13 June, and a stunt display at Palmerston Markets on Friday 14 June.

Children under 13 will receive free general admission to Hidden Valley and all ticket holders can also access free public transport to and from this year’s event.
