Turbocharged investment to support Alice Springs motorsports

Office of the Chief Minister

The Territory Labor Government is creating jobs and supporting local businesses by investing more than $1.5 million in one of Australia’s major motoring events through its Turbocharging Tourism strategy.

Red CentreNATS - the ultimate festival of wheels - attracts hundreds of competitors and thousands of visitors to Alice Springs from across the country.

Now in its fifth year, the Red CentreNATS showcases the best cars across categories including street machines, hot rods, classics and supercars. This year there will be a new ‘Heavy Hitter’ drag racing feature category and the biggest single field in Burnout Masters history.

Drivers will be competing for big money as well as one of three qualifying spots at Summernats 33 in January 2020 as part of the Burnout Masters qualifiers.

This year, internationally-acclaimed DJ, Hot Dub Time Machine, will headline the Podium Party at the event.

Known for playing the most iconic tunes from the 60s through to modern-day music, the Sydney DJ mixes and mashes visuals with audio from vinyl turntables to create an unforgettable dance party.
