Tourism NT’s quirky web series Location Scouts has
won further international acclaim winning Best Web Series at the Los
Angeles Film Awards for July 2019, Best Web Series at the Top Shorts Film Festival
for July 2019 and Best of Show at the IndieFEST Film Awards.
The series is a humorous mockumentary which follows a millennial and an experienced location scout as they seek out Territory locations to shoot the film, Top End Wedding.
The US accolades comes on the back of Location Scouts being an Official Selection at WEBFEST Berlin to run from 2 to 14 September 2019.
Filmed in parallel with Top End Wedding and produced to raise awareness of the Territory, the locations and the film, Location Scouts is exclusive to www.northernterritory.com/topendwedding
Written and directed by the Van Vuuren Brothers of Bondi Hipsters fame, Location Scouts is designed to appeal to young travellers while also complementing the movie’s key target audience.
Quotes
from Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, Lauren Moss:
“This recognition for Location Scouts extends the longevity of Top End Wedding to
broader markets and we continue to tell our stories and share them in new and
creative ways.
“The Los Angeles Film Awards, Top Shorts Film Festival, IndieFEST Film Awards and WEBFEST Berlin are examples of how great content that promotes the Territory can obtain a global audience reach and encourage people to visit.
“The Territory Labor Government has supported Top End Wedding as a major partner and the success of this phenomenal film internationally continues to promote the Territory, our talented screen industry and help drive visitation.”
