Safer Communities – Site Chosen for new Palmerston Fire Station

The Territory Labor Government today announced the site for the new $25 million state-of-the-art Palmerston Fire Station.

The station – which was announced in February - will be built at the old VIVO bus site off Howard Springs Road.

The new location means fire fighters can respond to emergencies in Palmerston and rural areas within seven minutes by road.

It will be home to 24 fire fighters, along with additional NTES volunteers, and will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including more room for larger appliances, training facilities, and an operations room.

Construction is due to commence later this year, and be completed by 2021. .
