Building Vibrant Communities: Upgrades at Freds Pass Reserve

Office of the Chief Minister

The Territory Labor Government has invested $3 million in major upgrades at the Freds Pass Sport and Recreation Reserve.

The popular rural venue now features improved roads, fencing, reticulation, parking and drainage as well as electrical upgrades.

A new amenities block will service the Litchfield Bears Football Club, market and paintball venues while improved lighting at the market shed will allow sports games to be held at night.

Other works include improved lighting at the main oval; connection of lighting towers to the mains power at the Litchfield Bears Oval and the development of an irrigation master plan.

The Territory Government worked in partnership with the Litchfield Council to ensure the funding supported community priorities and was in line with the Freds Pass Sport and Recreation Reserve Board’s Master Plan.

A further $2 million has been invested by the Territory Government to improve the reserve with works to include the construction of a new maintenance shed and cricket change rooms, certification of various buildings, additions to the equestrian facilities and upgrading of roads and car parks.
