Transport and Infrastructure Council Meeting in Melbourne

Office of the Chief Minister

Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Eva Lawler today attended the 12th meeting of the Transport and Infrastructure Council in Melbourne, which brings together Commonwealth, State, Territory, New Zealand Ministers and the Australian Local Government Association.

The meeting included discussions on a range of matters including connected and automated vehicles, low and zero-emission vehicles, intelligent transport systems and freight and mass transit systems.

The Territory Labor Government supports action that will increase electric vehicle uptake leading to lower emissions and reduced vehicle-running costs - making the cost of living cheaper for Territorians.

Road safety is a priority for all jurisdictions and was a key area of discussion. The Northern Territory will continue implement actions Towards Zero deaths and injuries on NT roads, so that every person gets home safely.

The Northern Territory Government will continue to work with industry to deliver important road infrastructure projects across the Territory.
