$2M Creative Industries Sector Immediate Response and Resilience Program: Digital Adaptation Program Grants

Office of the Chief Minister

Twenty-four recipients will share $200 000 in funding through Arts NT’s Digital Adaptation Program, as part of the Territory Labor Government’s $2 million Creative Industries Sector Immediate Response and Resilience Program.

Developed in response to the impacts of COVID-19, the Creative Industries Sector Immediate Response and Resilience Program will provide practical support to the arts, creative and screen industry sector.

The funding package will enable NT artists, arts workers, art groups and not for profit organisations to establish an online presence and create digital content, ensuring business continuity and remote operations can continue within the sector.

The Digital Adaptation Program grant round was highly competitive with 73 eligible applications received.

Though coronavirus related restrictions are easing, it’s important the community continues to adapt and engage with online programs to showcase and develop new work, networks and audiences.

Iltja Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation will receive $10 000 in funding to develop a six month program of online watercolour masterclasses.

The program will provide new online opportunities for artists and the broader community to learn to paint in the tradition of Albert Namatjira, arguably one of Australia’s most famous artists of the 20th century.

Red Hot Arts Central Australia will deliver their 2020 Workshop program online, supporting new artistic collaborations and partnerships and skills development at an individual level.
The $4600 grant will ensure artists and members can access the content free of charge.

Injalak Arts & Crafts Aboriginal Corporation will receive $9967 to fund their new digital campaign #backInjalak. The campaign will help Injalak to drive interest and sales at a local and national level, provide sustainable income through online adaptation and further skills development, which will continue to benefit the Gunbalanya community and the Territory after coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
