Final Round of Territory Tourism Vouchers a Hit

Office of the Chief Minister

Territorians were ready for the final release of the Territory Labor Government’s most popular COVID-19 stimulus last night, with 10,000 people registering for round 3 of the Territory Tourism Voucher within the first five minutes.

By 6am this morning, more than 33,000 people had signed-up to the waitlist, and over 50,000 had visited the page.

Valued up to $200, the vouchers are redeemable on a $1 for $1 basis across the Northern Territory, and can be used on multiple tourism experiences.

The vouchers, which went live at 8pm, are the third and final round of the stimulus. Those who didn’t manage to register last night are encouraged to register for the waitlist.

In round 2 every Territorian who registered for the voucher scheme received a Territory Tourism Voucher.

Like round 2, to ensure as many Territorians as possible have their chance to secure a voucher, once a voucher is issued it must be redeemed within 14 days.

Unredeemed vouchers will be returned to the pool and be re-issued to the next person on the waitlist with all travel and experiences to be completed by 30 April 2021.

The Territory Tourism Voucher is open to all Territorians aged over 18. To register for a Territory Tourism Voucher visit www.territoryvoucher.nt.gov.au.

Quotes from Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Natasha Fyles:

“The Northern Territory has been, and continues to be, the safest place in Australia throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Some of our industries, particularly Tourism, have been heavily impacted by the virus over the past 12 months and stimulus such as this help impacted industries stay afloat by encouraging locals to get out and become a tourist in their own backyard.

“One of the best ways to support our tourism and hospitality operators is to jump in the car and visit a local attraction or experience, and Territorians have taken up the opportunity in droves.

“Round 1 and 2 returned more than $17 million in bookings to date across the Northern Territory, which is a great reflection of this support.”
