Budget Week: Parliament Returns

The Territory Labor Government will today unveil the 2021/2022 Budget along with pass a suite of important legislation over the sitting fortnight.

The Youth Justice Legislation Amendment Bill will be introduced on urgency this week.

Debate of the Health Services Bill will put the Northern Territory Government one step closer to integrating Top End Health Service, Central Australia Health Service and NT Health into one new governance structure.

We are also set to pass the historic Land Title Amendment Bill which will enable exclusive native title holders in Territory towns the opportunity to receive a freehold title for their land.

Over the coming fortnight, the Territory Labor Government will also pass the Local Government Amendment Bill. This is designed to make voting in Local Government Elections easier for all Territorians - removing barriers to voting and enabling on the day voting.

Other Bills set for debate include the Serious Sex Offenders Amendment Bill, Mineral Royalty Amendment Bill, NDIS (Worker Clearance) Amendment Bill and the Taxation Administration Amendment Bill.
