Artback NT joins National Performing Arts Partnership Framework

Office of the Chief Minister

The Northern Territory’s key visual and performing arts touring organisation is amongst newcomers to a framework that will raise its national profile and offer financial stability.

Artback NT is one of eight new groups signed up to the National Performing Arts Partnership Framework (NPAPF), placing it amongst a clique of performance organisations including the Australian Ballet, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia.

The recent additions broaden the scope of the partnership framework and build on the strength of the 30 existing partners, improving arts access in regional and remote communities.

The agreement sets Artback NT as the first Northern Territory arts organisation to join the National Performing Arts Partnership Framework.

These companies, which include dance, theatre, circus, opera and orchestral and chamber music groups, are pivotal to supporting the careers of Australian performing arts and creatives, bring works of scale to Australian and international audiences, and play at some of Australia’s most iconic venues, festivals and arts infrastructures.

Established in 1994, Artback NT collaborates with visual and performing artists from across the Territory to develop and tour their work. It has offices in Darwin, Alice Springs and Borroloola.

The National Performing Arts Partnership Framework is administered by Australia Council for the Arts on behalf of the Australian Government, in partnership with State and Territory governments.
