The Territory Labor Government’s nation-leading vaccine rollout is taking another step forward with the Darwin COVID-19 Vaccination Centre (DCVC) to open next week.

The DCVC will administer the Pfizer vaccine, and will operate out of the Italian Club at 131 Abala Road, Marrara from the week of July 5, with online bookings now open.

The DCVC will be open extended hours and on the weekends, and it will vaccinate people based on Pfizer vaccine supply.

Priority for DCVC appointments will be given to the following groups based on advice from the Public Health Advisory Group:

• Indigenous Australians
• People over the age of 40 – 59 years
• People who meet the Phase 1A and 1B criteria - including those aged 16-39 years with a medical condition, plus health, quarantine, aged care, disability, high risk industry and border workers
• People with an exemption to travel overseas 

The Public Health Advisory Group will continue to review this prioritisation before opening to more people in Greater Darwin.

Territorians aged 50-59 who have had a cancelled first dose Astra Zeneca vaccine appointment have been contacted to reschedule their appointments at the new clinic.

Vaccination appointments for Pfizer continue to be available at Palmerston Respiratory Clinic and Danila Dilba.

Additional Pfizer supplies will be available in July with seven Darwin GP clinics to receive doses. People aged 16-39 years will be able to access the vaccination through these GP clinics.     

The vaccine rollout continues to lead the nation with over 91,700 doses administered in the Northern Territory.

More than 27,000 Territorians have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, which makes up just over 14% of the eligible population.
